Dorothea Litzinger was born in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, in 1889 and attended the National Academy of Design and the Art Students League in New York. She was best known for her large and vibrant still life compositions, exhibiting them at New York venues such as Ehrich Gallery, Kennedy & Company, and Goupil & Co. to favorable reviews.
